In the Regulation on Fire Protection of Buildings, the characteristics of the environmental hydrant systems are determined by Article 95:
 Article 95

-For the protection of buildings from fire, in order to be able to intervene the fires that cannot be extinguished in the first intervention, hydrants to be placed within the hydrant system to be installed to cover the whole environment of the building or the building should be arranged in such a way that the firefighters and their vehicles can easily approach and make connections.

 -Hydrant system design flow rate should be at least 1900 l / min and flow rate should be increased according to the risk class of the structure. There should be a pressure of 700 kPa at the outlet of the hydrant.
 
-Distance between hydrants should be 50 m in very risky areas, 100 m in risky areas, 125 m in medium risk areas and 150 m in low risk areas.
 
-Under normal conditions, hydrants should be placed about 5-15 m away from protected buildings.
 
- If there is no ring system in the piping that provides water to the hydrant system, the minimum pipe diameter that can be used should be 150 mm.
 
-The hydrants to be used in the system must be above ground fire hydrants and comply with the TS 2821 standard.
 
-In the hydrant system, underground and / or above ground line shut-off valves should be provided and installed at appropriate points and locations to facilitate hydrant renewal and maintenance operations.
